Warren B. Jones
Warren B. Jones, 99, of Shawnee, Kansas, formerly of Wichita, Kansas passed away July 28, 2009 at Sweet Life at Rosehill surrounded by his family.
Warren was born Dec. 22, 1909 in Wichita, Kansas to William K. and Sara Norcross Jones. Having been a member for over 85 years, he was the longest standing member of Fairmont U.C.C. Church in Wichita. Where a memorial service will also be held at a later date. Warren worked for many years for FHA (HUD) as an appraiser. Prior to and subsequently he worked as a private contractor for both agencies.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Jones, by a brother Gordon Jones, and sister Katherine Reidell. He is survived by his daughter Pat Bower and her husband Rex, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and by his son Warren (Mike) Jones and his wife Maxine of Shawnee, Kansas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. His large family was important to him and contributed to his longevity. Warren enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. As an avid reader he retained a keen mind until the end.
Memorial contributions in memory of Warren may be made to the Colonial Church in Prairie Village or the Fairmont U.C.C. Church.
Memorial Services
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 1,2009 at 11:00 am at the Colonial Church in Prairie Village, Ks. Located at 7039 Mission Rd.
