I will always remember my Uncle Ray fondly: his wry wit, quick smile, sharp intellect, skilled craftsmanship, musical ear, and kind, generous soul are characteristics that few men are blessed to have in such abundance. I know he's once again blessed with all these gifts and his beloved Erma now that he's gone on to his Reward. Paul, your eulogy was simply outstanding. For years, I have tried to duplicate Aunt Erma's macaroni and cheese and I can still hear Grandma Mary singing to Uncle Ray's violin playing. What happy times those were at Grandma's house at 38th & Baltimore for a young grandchild and neice. I remember Uncle Ray's very dry sense of humor and his helpful hand always for Aunt Erma. I am so happy they are once again together with their God. Although we may not often be together in person with our busy lives these days, you and your family are always present in my heart. Thinking of you and hoping you find peace in this moment. When Erma passed, Ray was left without his lifelong partner. I hope they are reunited happily at this time! YOU are in our thoughts and prayers and the family has had a network of e-mails flying about re: Ray, Mom, the visitation, the services and so with my brother, Tim's help, I've found this website. I remember swimming with your Dad and spending the night at your home on Main St. I remember eating with the family and the organ and violin playing. I have photos of Ray as a boy when he played with Mom. So I keep you in my thoughts and hope you and your family are well and happy. You saw Mom and DAD last night; I was very surprised Dad went so that means a lot! Thankfully, my siblings are there to represent our family a bit. He was truly a gifted artist and used his talent to the glory of God. May you be comforted and blessed by his memory and thankful that he is safe in the Heavenly home to which he looked forward.
