Kay K. Gaines

Kay K. Gaines, 76 of Olathe, Kansas passed away May 7, 2009. 

 

Kay was born September 7, 1932 in Japan.  She attend high school in Sendai, Japan graduating in 1951 and then attended Tohoku University and Akutsu Business College graduating in 1955.  She continued her education through 1962.  Kay moved to the United States in December of 1964 after which, was united in marriage to Charles H. Gaines.  She worked for many years with Charles in his chiropractic practice as his assistant and later she received her certification in acupuncture and massage therapy.

 

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband, Dr. Charles H. Gaines.  She is survived by her daughter Sheila (Todd)Richmond of Olathe,Kansas and her four grandsons; Lance (Amanda) Moyer, Steven Stumpner, Ryan and Rustin Richmond.  She is also survived by three brothers and their families, all of Japan.  

 

Memorial donations in Kay’s memory may be made in lieu of flowers to the Parkinson Foundation.

 

Visitation and Graveside Services

 

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.  Graveside services will be Thursday, May 14, 2009, at 11 am at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
