Karen S. Grimm, 61, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

 

Karen was preceded in death by her parents  Weldon Wernex  and Betty Root, and a   brother Doug Wernex. Survivors include her husband Ronald of the home, two daughters, Kristy and  husband  Alan Beland,  Overland Park , Kansas; Heather Neir, Overland Park, Kansas; a brother  Gene and wife Tiffany Wernex, Gardener, Kansas; sister Robbin Meyer, Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Sean, Brady, Alicia, Dawson, Alex, Andrew, and  Aiden.  Karen loved nursing and spending time with family and grandchildren.

 

Visitation and Funeral Service

 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m.  Saturday, April 25, at the chapel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Shawnee.

    I will greatly miss Karen. I worked with her at St. Joseph Medical Center. I know she loved life and her grandchildren. You could see her light up when she talked about them and their accomplishments. It was a pleasure to get to know Karen, and again, she will be missed.

    Learned of the loss of Karen from our “Lucent” connectons
    Didn’t know Karen personally, but worked with Ronald and Karen’s Brother Gene.

    Dear Family,

    Again my prayers and thoughts go out to each of you during this time, and I want you to know if I can do anything for you, please do not hesitate to ask. As you grieve during this time, just remember that Karen is in a much better place. A place of complete bliss, happiness, and joy. No longer is she in the pain that she used to suffer from, but she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Again, it was a pleasure serving you the past week and a half, and getting to know you. You continue to be in my prayers.

    Ron and family, I just got the email saying Karen passed away and want you to know I will keep all of you in my prayers. God has a plan for all of you and although it’s hard to think of now, I believe it is really true.

    I read the email about the passing of Karen. I am so sorry for your loss, Ron. I attended high school with Karen so my memories of her go back awhile.     I am so sorry to hear about Karen. I was searching the internet for Doug Wernex and found Karen.s obituary,,,,,only to see the Doug preceded her in death. I am really sad to find all this news.
