Ivan will not be with us forward in our lives on earth, but he will forever be in our minds and touch our hearts.
We celebrate Ivan’s life and the time we spent with him.
Micki, Lisa and Judy:
I am so saddened to learn today of your father’s passing. He was
an amazing accomplished person. He was my son’s professor
in medical school. I’ll be thinking of all of you today as you remember and honor your father.
With Sympathy,
Shirley Krumm
Sorry to hear about Ivan. He was a colleague one could go to for philosophical advice. He also saw to it that students got a fair shake. One story comes to mind. I had a student stuck in China and couldn’t get him out due to visa issues. I called the embassy in China and got nowhere. I asked Ivan for help. He called the embassy and within 10 min got the student a visa. He knew how to speak to bureaucrats. He was a straight shooter. He will be missed.
Micki, Judy and Lisa,
I hope things get easier for you all during this time. Though my memory fades a lot…all of our old times remain good. I hope that is always the case for you all. Take care.

I am sorry to hear about Dr. Goldberg. He was a good man who supported and respected students who worked hard. He also delighted in making students sweat with his “old school” and imaginative microbial genetics questions on exams.
Forgot to add that I was KU med center grad student 1985-1989
I still can not believe professor Goldberg is no longer with us…… I was a student in 1990s at KUMC. He helped me a lot!!! He is a very NICE and very GOOD person!!!! Thank you
