Helen A. Studinski
Helen A. Studinski, 90, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away April 17, 2009 at Trinity Nursing and Rehab in Merriam, Kansas.
Helen was born July 13, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Gregory and Katherine Honcharevich. She was united in marriage on July 23, 1938 to Harold Studinski, who preceded her in death. Helen was also preceded in death by her three brothers; Peter, George and Jack Honcharevich. She is survived by her daughter Arlene Horning (Ted) of Shawnee, Kansas, by her son George Studinski (Yvonne) of Alturas, California. and by a grandson Charles Horning, of Shawnee, Kansas.
Helen was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a past president of the St. Agnes Altar Society. She will always be remembered for her love of baking, which gave her the nickname of “Cookie”.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Trinity Nursing and Rehab for their 14 years of loving care.
In lieu of flowers memorials donations may be made to The Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois, or to The Sister Servants of Mary in Kansas City, Kansas in Helen’s memory.
Visitation and Service
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with a Rosary prayed at 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
