Marvin D. Swayne

Marvin D. Swayne, 64, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 

 

Marvin was born October 8, 1944 in Knoxville, Iowa.  Marvin served in the U.S. Air Force and was awarded the Airmen’s Medal for saving the life of a fellow Airman during a telephone repair accident.  Marvin retired from Sprint after 39 years of service to the telecommunications industry.  He was an active member of the St. Joe Pony Express Chapter of HOG. 

 

He is survived by JoAnn Seuferling, Shawnee, Kansas; a daughter, Melissa Swayne, and a sister, Sonja Blackman, Indianola, Iowa.

 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145. 

 

 

Memorial Visitation

 

A memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.  Marvin will be laid to rest with his family in Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, Iowa.

    We were glad to have known Marv as a friend. He had a long hard fight with this illness and lost. He is now at peace and hope that all his pain has been lifted. Let those Harley angels fly with you Marv.
