My grandmother was Mary Annabel Tanco daughter of Peter Bronson Messinger and Louisa Bryant. She was b. 1868 fo I guess that is three our four generations.

I tried some years ago to get Hap Messinger to communicate with me as I am doing the family genealogy and have been for over 25 years.

My condolences for another of our family. Jean

Col.Messinger was my teacher at Northeast High School. He always pushed me to do the best that I could do. I thank him for that. He always made sure thaat I made the best out of a bad situation. I will miss very much. Even after I graduated I thought of him often. I remember sandbaging in Riverside, Mo. in 1993 with the Civil Air Patrol. He will be deeply missed.
To his family Our deepest sympathy and may God bless your family

Maureen, I was very sorry to read in this morning’s paper that Harry passed away. Sometimes when we would go see Uncle Hap or Aunt Zora and get to see you and Harry I really enjoyed visiting with you both. I knew at the time Harry was not feeling good but always hoped he would get better. You have my Deepest Sympathy and you will be in my prayers. May God Bless You and your family. Beverly

Harry was a good friend and member at one time of our Civil Air Patrol unit. He was active in our cadet program and inspired many of our cadets to move into the active military. He will be missed by all of us in the Civil Air Patrol.

Maureen, I thought this must be the Harry Messinger that I knew from 4-H years ago. It’s been a long time since I have seen any of you. I’m sorry for your loss but know that you will adjust. Nurses seem to do well at that. I lost Bob 5 years ago. We had 61 years together and his health had deteriorated and the memory loss progressing. We moved from 87th st 20 years ago to some acreage in western lenexa. I always remember all of you when I drive by your place on Renner. I am still at LUMC so I know your Pastor Sheila from there, also Stan. My love and prayers to all of you. Dorothy Rose

Please accept my concern and prayers to yiou, the family of Harry. Maurine, you and Harry became a friend several years ago when I had just started to attend Monticello United Methodist Church. As you already know I was under extreme pressure at that time.
I always enjoyed getting with Harry for coffee before church. We had a number of things in common including military service and airplanes. God comforts us and meets our needs at times of loss and discouragement. We can face all things through Christ who provides strength for all of us. Lover Meyer E. Nelson

When I was in a very troubled time in my life Col. Messinger was there for me and helped me to survive in a world that was hostile and deadly. I am sorry that I couldn’t track him down before his passing to thank him for the life lessons he taught me and opportunities that he gave me to become the man that I am today. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t use a lesson or skill that he taught me.

My life is what it is because he was in it.

Thanks Harry, I’ll always remember you.
