We’ll miss George,He was a friend to everyone didn’t know a stranger. ( Thats like a barber Knows everyone). He was my brother in law and Friend to the end. We enjoyed talking and playing wahoo with George and of course he always kept our knives in good and sharp shape. I will miss him very much. May he rest in peace.
I want to offer my condolences to Marietta and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
George was always sweet and kind to us and everyone. He was more like a brother than a brother in law. We shared many good times and trips with George and Marietta. We love them both and will miss him very much.
We send our love to Marietta and all the family.
Eternal peace to you George as you rest in the bosom of the Lord.
Marilyn and Mrs. Upton -
Just wanted to let you know I’m praying for you and holding you all dearly in my thoughts. I remember lots of fun overnights, making pizzas and visiting with all of you. All good memories…..
I send you hugs,
Jane Ann
Dear Marietta and Family -
I don’t know if you remember me or not but I had the priviledge of helping to care for George while he was at Garden Terrace. I was there the first day he arrived and helped with his care until I started nursing school this past August. I still keep in touch with one of the people that I worked with on TLC 2.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing – George was a special man and he was definitely my favorite. He was kind, polite and generous and though Alzheimer’s was taking it’s toll, it was easy to see that he had a loving spirit. He always had a smile and a hug for me when I worked and was always very nice to me (though sometimes not happy about the shower situation!) He had a gift for making me laugh and I would tease him good naturedly about us never having enough coffee for him! II also held in awe the level of devotion and love that he had for you. He truly worshiped you and told me nightly what a lucky man he was to have such a wonderful wife. We shared many laughs and I feel priviledge to have been a small part of his care.
I’m sure this is a difficult time but I know you take comfort knowing that he is now with the Lord and is well and happy again.
You will remain in my prayers Marietta, as will your family.
Sincerely,
Sally Gillam (former CNA-TLC 2 Garden Terrace)
Dear Marietta, Marilyn, and Carolyn
I hope you remember me. I am the oldest son of Fred and Genevieve Grosko (two brothers Gary and Dan) who used to live across the street from you at 13th and Orville. I wish to express our sincere condolences for the loss of your husband and father. I happened across this news in the Warsaw, Mo. newspaper. We have a farm down there and live there about half the time. I never knew that George was born there. When I saw that he had been a barber I knew that this was the George that I know. He will be in our prayers and I am sure that he is once again neighbors with my mom and Dad.
Sincerely,
John Grosko
