The legacy of a true man is not measured by the accomplishments he makes in his life, the money he complies in an account or the things he acquires from his success. . .
The legacy of a true man is measured by the footprints he leaves in the hearts of those left behind. The timeless etchings that no one can touch, tamper or take away from us. . .
The legacy of a true man is the permanent stamp of love that he walked through our life and left behind . . . His unique footprints on our heart.
Brandon touched so many hearts and will continue to live through each and every one of them. With my deepest sympathy.
I am so heartbroken that something like this could happen to such a wonderful person. I remember Brandon as being such a friendly happy person and I know he had great things in line for him. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Brandon’s family and friends. I know he will be greatly missed, but try to remember the joy he brought to each of your lives.
We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of your son Brandon. Parents never anticipate the loss of a child but through the prayers of others, the knowledge that your loved one is now in a better place, and your faith in our Lord the healing of this sorrowful time will pass. Please know that you and your family will be in our prayers.
May God be with you and your family during this time.
Steve and Tammy Catron
I’m very sorry to hear about Brandon. We will all miss him.
Stacy, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Know that my heart is with you in spirit and that your family is in my heart also and my prayers.
we are very sorry to hear about brandon,it just don`t seem real.seems like it was just the other day and brandon and jeff were both at our house hanging out with amanda and our other kids.they have both blessed us in many ways,he will always be with you,and everyone he touched.again we are very sorry.
Brandon was a college friend, a fraternity brother (in fact, my fraternity son/little brother), but above all, he was someone that i could always count on, on bad and good times. Looking back at all the memories and pictures i have of him, it’s impossible to find one instance that he was not smiling. That is definitely what we should all remember of him, his constant strive to be happy and make those around him happy as well. He was an inspiration to all of us, and will continue to be for all times. My very deep condolences to his family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
To all the members of Brandon’s family:
I am so sad and heartsick to learn of Brandon’s death. It seems we are too young to hear of such things happening to our classmates and friends. Brandon was always laughing and joking, and I will remember him fondly for that.
May our Lord Jesus Himself be your Rock and your strength; your ever present help in times of trouble.
Sincerely,
Audrey Randall
Stacy and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Brandon. I love you all and my hearts and prayers are with you at this time. It’s just a tragedy when someone that touched so many lives has to be taken away so early. May he fly with the angels.
Please know we are thinking of you all and keeping you in our prayers. My heart goes out to you.
I know the loss you have suffered as I too lost a son , he was 28.
Please try and celebrate his life and know that he is at peace, in time his life on earth will come to mean more than his tragic passing.
He is never any further than your heart or memories. Dee and Bill Fronce and family
Stacy and family, my prayers are with you…Brandon was a fine young man….he will be missed. I enjoyed the conversations I had with him when he came into the office to take you out to lunch Stacy. May God bless you and your family at this time.
Nothing can be said to ease the pain of this situation, I first met Brandon as a child and have shared many great times with him and his family. I will never forget what a great young man he was. Many people say they will “miss” Brandon. There is no greater emotion than missing a person. This means he left an impression on the heart of others. This young man did that to so many around him. He was not afraid to talk to anyone and more importantly, cared for those around him. For this, I will miss him too.
We just want to say that our prayers are with the family of Brandon. God Bless.
The Friend family.
We are so sad for you.
Please know that your friends are thinking of you and your family, and praying that your pain will lessen with time.
May God bless you and hold you close during this very difficult time.
Rudy and Karan
I am so saddened to hear of Brandon’s passing. He will be greatly missed! Brandon was one of the nicest, most sincere people I have ever met. He was always respectful and made friends everywhere he went. My heart goes out to him family…you are all in my prayers!
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray that you will feel the love and support of everyone at this time of your loss.
It has been a privelage to of been acquainted to Brandon, beginning at the time he became a pledge brother of mine in college. He always carried himself well and was very sincere to everybody he met. My thoughts and prayers go out to those survived by Brandon, this is truly a loss for all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
I am very sorry for your loss. Brandon was a bright young man with much to contribute to this world.
This senseless loss is truly unfair. I am thankful for the times we shared with Brandon. Pittsburg State would not have been the same without you. It was an honor to be your pledge son. All love and support to the family and friends. V.D.B.L. #664
My condolences to the family. Brandon was a great friend and will be missed dearly. R.I.P. brother.
I am so sorry to hear the news about Brandon. He was a good person and I enjoyed the time I knew him and worked with him. He was a great addition to our team the year or so he worked with us yet I am glad he decided to leave us and pursue the business with his brother. That was a greater interest to him than working in an office.
As a mother and a friend of Brandon, my thoughts are with you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this untimely loss. I remember Brandon always having a smile on his face and was always sincere and respectful. He will truly be missed…. God Bless you all!
If there is anything-absolutely anything- I might be able to do for you at this time, do not hesitate to call. I am so sorry.
There are not words to express how sorry our family is for your loss. Brandon was a friend of my son, Justin, and would often come to our lake home with him. He was always so polite and such an appreciative guest that we felt honored to have him there. He had the kind of face that seemed to be permanently imprinted with a smile. He was such a pleasure to get to know and even though we knew him for just a short time, he will forever be in our hearts. Our prayers go out to you. Janiece and Dennis Pangborn
Dear Kids,
I am so very sorry about the loss of Brandon. Jeff, Erica, and Jennifer, your brother was a very special student to me. When he came into my 8th grade history class, he was still pretty short, had a mass of freckles across his nose, and a twinkle in his eye that told me that he was full of it. I thought he looked like a little leprechan. As he grew up, he became a better and better student and a better and better friend, but he was still full of it. He never caused me a bit of trouble in the classroom, but you never knew when he’d come up with a wise crack that would crack up the whole class and me and that was the end of the lesson for the day.
Jeff, do you remember the late night expedition you and Brandon took with the metal detector and brough some treasures back to me? I have them mounted with some of my other Civil War artifacts in frame right here next to me. Erica and Jennifer, I wish so much that I was able to keep in better touch with you. I’m sure losing Brandon has left a big hole in your hearts; it has in mine.
I addressed you as “kids” even though you are all adults now. Once you’ve come through my classroom doors, you become one of “my kids” and I never dispossess you. I keep you all frozen in time as you were the day I watched you walk across the stage to receive your diploma. You all will never not be one of “my kids”.
I’m fully retired now, working on genealogy and trying to write an historical fiction novel about the underground railway running through Kansas. We live north of Mound City and have an old run-down house on our place that has been identified as a stop for the run-away slaves. I’m happy and healthy and couldn’t be better.
Please express to all your parents my deepest sympathy. I only wish that I could attend Brandon’s services and whisper to him
“I love you”, like I’ve had to do too many times already with “my kids”.
All my love and sympathy,
Caroline (Ellis) Stallard, your OLD history teacher at PHS
Although it had been many years since I had seen Brandon he is and will be fondly remembered. My heart goes out to his family and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. One of the Lords angels taken away from us too soon, but smiling down on us all now.
So sorry for the loss of your child. I had not seen Brandon in many years. He was allways a happy child and touched all our lives. He is in Heaven now where he will be with many loved ones.Your family is in are thoughts and Prayer. Billy & Shannon Justice
I met Brandon through my daughter – they used to work together. He had a wonderful smile and was always very cheerful. We will miss his humor and joy for life.
To the Family of Brandon L. Stevens, My prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Brandon was very dear to me and I was blessed to call him my friend. He will have a place in my heart forever. May God be with each of you. Love, Annie
Thinking of you at this time. Brandon will be missed yet not forgotten. What an amazing person to call a friend. Jess (Brandt) and Josh Lindsey
Brandon was a fraternity brother and a roommate of mine while at Pitt State. I could always count on Brandon to be there when I needed him and could always count on his signature smile. I will miss being able to pick up the phone and chat with him about anything and everything. My condolances go out to his family, as well as my thoughts and prayers.
Even though I am now related to Brandon through marriage, he was always a dear friend to me. I have so many fond memories of such a wonderful person. I will never forget playing softball, and football and who knows what else all summer long! We are all truly less one angel on earth now, but we can rest in knowing that he is looking down on all of us now and probably making fun of us, as that is what he did best!
I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss and understand it is very difficult to come to terms to losing someone who enjoyed life to the full.
Brandon was a good man, well-respected. I will always have fond memories playing high-school football together.
God bless you and your family during this time.

John and I were heartsick to learn of Brandon’s death. Our many thoughts and prayers are with your entire family as you attempt to cope with his death and this senseless act of violence.
We are your family and we have your back. One word and we will be there and do anything.

I am so very sorry to hear of Brandon’s passing. I will always remember Brandon as the boy in school who was always smiling. He will be deeply missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,

It brings much sorrow to my heart to hear about Brandon’s tragedy. I had not seen Brandon in several years. He was a very good friend of mine through our teenage years. We have so many memories that I will always remember and cherish. Brandon always had a smile on his face. If you were not smiling, it was easy for him to put a smile on your face. He was never judgmental and always accepted people for who they were.
Brandon, I will miss you. You will forever be in my thoughts and heart. Your Friend, Jennifer Speedone

Dear Stacy and Randy and family,
Brandon was and always will be so very special to our family. Our boys growing up and graduating together brings back so many special memories that we all shared. He and Jeff were with us so much that they quickly became very precious to all of us. His quick wit, sense of humor and great personality were all special traits that will be forever remembered.
I have such fond memories of him as a little boy with his little freckled, turned up nose. The ballgames, church, Bible school, and just having him at our home was such a pleasure. We loved him, and he will live in our hearts and memories forever.
We’re praying that God will give you the special strength that only He can give at this time to ease the pain. This scripture can pull us through the darkest of times and give us the assurance of His abundant love and strength.
” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Please remember that you are all very loved by your friends and that our hearts all share the pain and sorrow of your loss.
Love, Darryl, Vicki and family
My prayers are with all of you as you go through this horrible time. Brandon was a friend of mine that always could make me laugh. Just remember during these tough times, and months to come, about all of the times he made someone smile and laugh.
He will be greatly missed.
I am still in shock over this senseless act that took such a promising life. Brandon was a friend to both me and my daughter. He was a lot of fun and brought a lot of joy to others. I hope you take some comfort in knowing that he will not be forgotten. As a parent, I cannot begin to fathom what you must be going through and my best wishes and condolences go out to you and Brandon’s family.
I, like so many people mentioned above, remember Brandon as just the happiest most sincere guy, and so much fun to be around. He will always be remembered as a great guy, genuine and the real deal.
I cannot even begin to put into words how sorry I am for your loss. Please know I am praying for you–not just for peace, although I am praying that–but for answers & justice to be served.

I would just like to say that Brandon was a wonderful, caring person. I was so blessed to have had the opportunity of being one of his classmates through the years. He will be sadly missed. He has a very special place in my heart. I will never forget all the great memories because of him. He truely knew what to do to make sure every moment with him was a memory.
Jeff, you have a very special brother and all though you may not see Brandon he will always be with you. Watching over you and guiding you every step of the way. I will never forget the Hard times he would give you, But hey he was and is your little brother and thats how he showed he cared. On one hand he was as Onrey as could be but on the other hand he was Truely Caring & Sincere.
The Service for Brandon was beautiful. It showed just how many lives he truely touched. He could not have asked for a better family to share his life with. I wish you all Peace and Understanding of why God chose Brandon to be with him.

Oh Erica, it doesn’t seem that long ago that you were there helping me through the hardest time in my life and it seems to soon that I am her doing the same for you. Brandon was one of my first real friends in Pleasanton and he made me feel so welcome. I remember all his Halloween parties and I still have pictures of him from prom. He will be so missed. I will always think of him as a friend. Just remember that I love you and that I am always here for you no matter what. Life is too short, cherish what you have, and always remember what you have lost.
Jeff I just love you and I am so sorry you are going through this. I wish you contentment and happiness, and in time you will have both.
Thinking of you always,
Lindsay Johnson Lloyd
My husband and I were heartbroken to hear of Brandon’s passing. We both worked with Brandon at RH Donnelley. Our fond memories of him are that of a very intelligent young man, who learned quickly and knew how to get things done. His smile would light up the room and his sense of humor could always make a bad day, good. It is hard to understand why Brandon was taken at such a young age, but we are confident that God has a special purpose for such a special person. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to know him and call him our friend.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with the family. We hope that in time you find justice and peace.
Dear family, I got to know Brandon through my son Luke Bumgarner . I have always thought of Brandon as a son. His love of life was contagious, his smile lit up a room, his love for friends and family was such a beautiful attribute. He will always be remembered and loved by our family. I am so thankful I got to know him and ride our harleys from time to time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Deb Tallio
We came to this site to offer our deepest sympathy to your entire family. But, as we read the loving accounts of Brandon, who we had never had a chance to meet, we can feel the essence of Brandon held forever in the hearts of so many. What a joy he was to those who were fortunate enough to know him. So, with our sympathies come congratulations to the entire family. You were blessed to have Brandon.
Wow..unbelievable!! I am so saddened to hear of the loss of an old friend from school. Brandon and I had some good times together.
