She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Padgett, Overland Park, Kansas; her son, Michael Laster (Tari), Shawnee, Kansas; four grandsons who were the light of her life, Brandon (Maianh) Laster, Kansas City, Missouri, Jon, Ben and Nate Laster of Shawnee, Kansas; one great granddaughter, Nina Bui of Kansas City, Missouri, and one great grandbaby due next July. She also leaves to mourn her passing the mother of her four grandsons, Janet Swaim; three sisters, LaVerne (Felix) Kane, Beverly (Louie) Smreker, Sheryl (Frankie) Orser; two brothers, Bob (Peggy) Barnes and Gary (Linda) Barnes; two sisters-in-law, Cookie Brown and Ann Hines, both of Arkansas, along with many nieces, nephews, nursing home family and extended family. Lois was loved!

Lois graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School. In August of this year she celebrated 31 years with Avon, achieving the honor of Presidents Club over 25 of those years, the latest being in 2007 while in the nursing home.

Lois fought a valiant and painful fight with rheumatoid arthritis, along with many other illnesses, but they finally won out. Both she and Norman battled this awful, debilitating disease.

We love you Mom, and will miss you more than you will ever know. It is comforting to know that those of us who know Jesus will see you again one day.

If you care to, you may make contributions in her name to the Western Missouri Arthritis Association, 1900 W. 75th St., Suite 200, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208.
