Irene Clara Israel

Irene Clara Israel, 85, of Merriam, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation in Shawnee, Kansas. 

 

Irene, born August 11, 1923 in Avalon, Missouri married Donald C. Israel January 5th, 1946.  Irene was preceded in death by her husband Donald, a son James, and a daughter, Martha, Carl Corbin, brother and Willa Cooper, sister.  She is survived by two daughters, Donna and Terry Stutzman, Roeland Park, Kansas; Tracy Israel, Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren, David and Kristene Rule; Shawnee, Kansas; Megan Rule and fiance Warren Klosterman, Overland Park, Kansas; three great grandchildren, Christian, Collin and Callie Rule; two brothers Don and Wilma Corbin, Trenton, Missouri; and Bill and Dorothy Corbin, Chillocothe, Missouri; Sister-in-law, Helen Israel-Davis, Shawnee, Kansas; brother-in-laws, Robert Israel, Overland Park, Kansas; Dale Israel, Shawnee, Kansas; Samuel Israel, Topeka, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews, and her long-time best friend, Dorothy Brown.

 

Irene was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend.  She lived and loved her family most, and she will never be forgotten.

 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Shriners Hospital, Vitas Hospice of Kansas or Wayside Waifs.

 

Visitation and Funeral Service

 

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.  Fuenral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Chapel.  Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Shawnee.
