Dr. Kenneth Laney, DDS
Dr. Kenneth O. Laney, DDS, 79, of Mission, Kansas, passed Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Ken was born October 14, 1929 to the Orton and Thelma Laney in Kansas City, Kansas. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the service Ken, graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry for 43 years. Ken practiced at the Georgetown Medical Building for over twenty years.
Ken is survived by his wife Lorrie Laney, and children: Marc Laney and wife Lynne, Kansas City, Missouri; Marcia Carter and husband Howard, Lenexa; Jan Coleman and husband Mike, Kansas City, Kansas; Paula Dyrhaug and husband Jimmy, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Eric Smith and wife Michelle, Frisco, Texas. A sister Opal Ney and husband Dale, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive him.
The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to Kansas City Hospice.
Memorial Services:
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, November 21 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A Celebration of Ken’s life will follow at 6 p.m. at the chapel.
