Carolyn Kay Reynolds

Carolyn Kay Reynolds, 66, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away November 26, 2008. 

 

She was born September 30, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Elmer and Lucy Davis Smith.  She grew up in Rosedale, Kansas, graduating from Rosedale High School in 1960.  She was a proud member of  Job’s Daughters and a 37 year member of the Rosedale/Shawnee Legion.  She retired from the JC Penny Outlet after 17 years of work.   Carolyn loved to dance and enjoyed music.  She will be forever remembered for ability to always put others before herself and for her love of her family, friends and Betty Boop. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth Smith and a daughter Angie Carter.  Carolyn is survived by her husband Larry W. Reynolds Sr., by her son Mike Carter of Overland Park, her daughter Robyne Carr of La Cygne, Kansas, by sons Larry Reynolds Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas,  Donnie Reynolds of Overland Park, David Reynolds of Lee’s Summit, and Jimmie Durkee of Shawnee, Kansas.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

 

Memorials in Carolyn’s memory may be made to Kansas City Hospice.

 

Visitation and Service

 

Memorial services will be held Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
